IPBES「花粉媒介者、花粉媒介及び食料生産アセスメントレポートの政策決定者向け要約」は、2016年2月に開催された第４回IPBES総会で採択、発表されました。しかし、その質の高さや日本における課題との関連の深さにも関わらず、レポートが日本語に翻訳されていないこともあり、日本国内ではこの内容まではあまり知られていませんでした。IGESでは、日本のより多くの方々にこの内容について触れて頂けるように、政策決定者向け要約のうち、「主要なメッセージ」（Key messages）に加え、背景情報として冒頭の序文（Foreword）と関連する表を中心に抄訳しました。
