2017年より北九州アーバンセンター（IGESサテライト事務所）の研究員。国連の持続可能な開発目標（SDGs）のローカライゼーション（地域での実用化）や気候変動・パリ協定を専門とする。インドネシア・中央カリマンタン州における森林・泥炭地火災の抑制事業を現在、実施している。北九州市環境審議会の委員、北九州SDGs未来都市アワードの審査員、パリ協定の締約国会議（COP）への日本政府代表団を務める。北九州市の「第１４回女性活躍・ワークライフバランス表彰」個人部門受賞。
インドネシアの中央カリマンタン州における「環境配慮型石けん系泡消火剤を用いた森林・泥炭地火災の消火技術普及・実証事業」（JICA中小企業SDGsビジネス支援事業）に、製品の現地適合化を推進する役割で参画中。
「2030SDGsゲーム」（イマココラボ）、「Sustainable World BOARDGAME」（未来技術推進協会）、「レゴ®シリアス プレイ®メソッド」の公認ファシリテーター。2022年4月～九州工業大学の非常勤講師として、同大学院の「環境学特論」を担当。九州産業大学の「グローバル・リーダーシッププログラム」外部講師。福岡県立八幡高校「新時代に対応した高等学校改革推進事業」委員、総合的な探求の時間の指導。
前職は、国際協力機構（JICA）の専門家として、インドネシアに赴任し、インドネシア国家気候変動適応計画の策定を支援した。また、外務省・在ドイツ日本大使館の気候変動に係る専門調査員として、京都議定書・国連気候変動枠組条約（UNFCCC）の国際交渉に従事した。

パリ協定に掲げる今世紀後半に脱炭素社会（温室効果ガス排出量が正味ゼロの状態）を実現させるためには、経済成長が著しいアジアにおいて、持続可能な低炭素社会の構築に向けた動きを加速させることが必要である。近年、経済成長著しいアジアの都市では、急激な都市化により、資源やエネルギー消費量が増大し、交通量増加に伴う交通渋滞が頻発しており、生活や経済活動に伴う廃棄物、排水、排ガス、温室効果ガス（GHG）等の排出量が増加するなど、住民の生活環境の悪化を招いている。これらの都市の経済成長を維持しながら快適な生活環境を守っていくには、効率的な資源循環や省エネ施策を推進し、環境負荷を最小限に留める持続可能な都市形成にシフトしていかなければならない。 我が国は、開発途上国においてこのような取組を支援すべく...

アジアの新興国都市では、急速な人口増加と都市化に伴い、様々な環境問題が顕在化している。これら途上国都市の環境改善を行う方策の一つとして、本邦自治体が長年積み重ねてきた持続的な都市経営に関するノウハウや技術を移転する「都市間連携」の推進が期待されている。このような取組には外部資金の活用が必要であるが、ファンドを提供している政府の支援意図とは裏腹に、都市間連携に参画する自治体の数は思うように増えていないのが現状である。本稿は、都市間連携を行う本邦自治体を増やし、ファンドの効果的な利用を促すことを通じて都市間連携を推進することを目的として、都市間連携に利用可能なファンド及びその利用実態を把握し、ファンドの効果的な獲得や有効利用について提言を取りまとめたものである。
