COP28 side event ‘Dealing with Loss and Damage'
Just like adaptation, L&D has grown into an extensive science and policy area and things are very complicated even for the researchers to take a stock of it and to provide solutions. A large part of this confusion is coming from the disjoint between the global negotiations and at the national level. While at the ground level, most L&D solutions are...

Adaptation effectiveness cannot be achieved by focusing on one stage of the adaptation process, rather it needs an all-encompassing approach. The current undue attention on a few stages of adaptation planning needs to be reconsidered. Adaptation effectiveness is vital to inform both national and local level adaptation actions as well as progress...

Bhutan is already facing significant impacts of climate change due to its mountainous and glacial terrain. The 1.5-degree scenario is a tipping point for glacial melting and water stability in Bhutan. It is therefore absolutely crucial to develop alternative options to deal with any catastrophic situation. The results of this research demonstrate...

Since the 26th Conference of Parties (COP26) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in 2021, global society, including Asian countries, has entered the phase of how to implement a long-term transition roadmap to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs). Given vital needs for the development in many Asian countries, a...
