本業務では、3月18日～22日にドイツ・ボンのUNキャンパスで実施された、国連気候変動枠組み条約（UNFCCC）第11回森林参照排出レベルの技術的評価（a technical assessment session of proposed forest reference emission levels and/or forest reference levels）に専門家として参加、対応を行った。同技術的評価には、全部で9か国からの森林参照排出レベルの提出があり、IGES研究員は、うち1か国の森林参照排出レベルの技術的評価を、もう一名の専門家と共に実施した。

なぜ、日本の企業が取り組まなければならないのか？ 気候変動への対処が企業レベルでも求められる今日、世界の森林減少について、気候変動への対処という観点から、日本への関わりも含めて以下を解説する。①気候変動と森林減少に関する国際的な議論の動向、②具体的な取組みの紹介：REDD+を中心として、③企業はどう取り組むべきか。

インドネシアの中央カリマンタン州において実施している「環境配慮型石けん系泡消火剤を用いた森林・泥炭地火災の消火技術普及・実証事業」に関する活動概要である。シャボン玉石けん株式会社、北九州市立大学、北九州市消防局、地球環境戦略研究機関（IGES）が、パランカラヤ大学をカウンターパートとして、国際協力機構（JICA）のSDGsビジネス支援事業として、2023年5月～2025年5月において実施している。シャボン玉石けんが開発した石けん系泡消火剤の消火性能、環境性能、社会経済性を実証するとともに、現地に適合した普及方法を調査している。 本ポスターは、IGES主催の「第15回持続可能なアジア・太平洋国際フォーラム」（2023年12月に、於：横浜）のポスターセッションにおいて発表された。
