川崎市とバンドン市は、平成18年から「アジア・太平洋エコビジネスフォーラム」及び「UNEP 連携エコタウンプロジェクト」を通じ、連携・協力関係が醸成されており、この連携・協力関係の確認・強化のため、バンドン市と川崎市は、2016年2月18日に、「低炭素で持続可能な都市形成に向けた都市間連携に関する覚書」を締結した。この覚書締結時に、バンドン市長から廃棄物分野に関する都市間連携を通じた支援の要請をいただいた。これらの希望に応えるため、JICA草の根技術支援事業(地域特別活性枠)を活用し、バンドン市が川崎市の支援を受け、体系的な廃棄物管理を可能にしていく活動を行うこととなった。本事業の目標は、インドネシア国バンドン市が持続可能な資源循環型社会に寄与する廃棄物管理手法を構築し実施することにより...
